 April 28

Isaiah 1:16-17

“Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” 

Standing up for people shows who you are as a person. Do not feel ashamed by doing the right thing; let people judge you. They can’t change your heart; only you can make the decision to do good. Judgment from people lasts two seconds, but a good deed can have a lifetime of impact on a person. This is important; it's not just about helping one person, it's about helping to stop the spread of malicious intent. Everything we do as a person is absorbed by everyone around us. They pick up on our actions and reflect them against their own life, and the same follows suit when they take actions in front of their friends. We must be a good example because God relies on us to be. He's the one who judges us in the end, after all.
