 April 26

In the book of Genesis, Adam and Eve sin and receive punishment. Also in Genesis, Cain receives punishment after killing his brother out of jealousy. And even later in Genesis, the entirety of mankind sins, causing God to bring the flood. Humanity will always struggle with sinning and avoiding sin because of the presence of both good and evil in the world. But, after the flood, God gave us a promise that he would not wipe us out again (Genesis 9:8-17). He also ends up giving us the ten commandments, and sacrifices his son to wipe clean our sins. So, we have the opportunity and the tools available to be good, but it is a choice. Something that's helped me to avoid temptation and selfishness is to write down a list of my responsibilities and organize them by priority, not based on what I prioritize, but based on what the bible says are priorities.
