Matthew 7:13
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Matthew 12:33-34
“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”
God wants us to take the path less chosen. It’s easy to live a life of sin and bad decisions, and it feels good for a time, but it never lasts. Taking the path that is difficult and rocky always has a better result in the end. If you have a child, do you expect the baby to be perfect and never cry? No, parenting and life are meant to be difficult because that’s how we learn and grow. The only perfect world is in heaven, which we can reach by being good people.
