John 10:1-5

"Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice."

When we choose to take easy shortcuts in life, to quickly get something we want or to quickly make money, it breaks the path that God has chosen for us. We miss out on learning experiences, and we end up with a worse understanding of people and how life works. We may have obtained our goal, even with cheating, but we end up lost in where we should go next. Only God knows what skills we need later in life, and if we miss out on crucial learning experiences, we won't develop our character traits. This causes us to be unfit for opportunities we come across later on.
