 April 17

Proverbs 1:8-

“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.”

As parents, our children bring us joy and innocence, and they remind us how to have fun. As adult children, we may not remember giving that joy to our parents, but we can remember that our parents may have lost joy themselves. Remember to be there for them. They also give us instruction and parenting throughout our lives. Some of it may be unsolicited, of course, but sometimes it’s better to hear them out, especially when we have lost our way.
